Patty Blaser, NJ-CID, ASID has recently been elected to serve as President-elect of NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification). She is a full professor at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey where she founded their Interior Design program. From 1985 to 1998, she also ran her own business, Blaser Interior Design Group, Inc., focusing on commercial space planning and interior design.
For the past three years, Blaser has served on NCIDQ committees and task forces focused on establishing educational standards. In 2005, she served on the Interior Design-Related Coursework Task Force; in 2006 she served on the Education Committee; in 2007 she was a member of the Educational Equivalency Task Force. She is a member of the New Jersey Board of Architects Interior Design Examination and Evaluation Committee and was instrumental in getting legislation passed in New Jersey through her involvement in the New Jersey Coalition for Interior Design Legislation, serving as President in 2003-2004.
Blaser attended Brookdale Community College before receiving a bachelor's degree in interior design & art history from Kean University, where she later received a master's degree in studio art education.
